It will feature Civil Rights-era freedom songs being sung by contemporary artists like The Roots who put their own twist on "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around". The video showcases 20th-century Civil Rights protests clips. Looking forward to the release of the final project!

A clip of the highly anticipated Madonna, Nicki Manaj (who Madonna has revealed she's kissed) and M.I.A.'s collaboration "Give Me All Your Luvin" is here. The full song and video drop tomorrow with a cheerleader/football theme which is fitting given her upcoming Super Bowl performance. I can most definitely see this being a huge summer hit as it's got that very beachy, girly feel to it that reminds me of The Go-Go's early 80's album "Beauty and the Beat". Enjoy!

Preview: Otto Knows – Million Voices (Original Mix) [Refune]

I've been intrigued by the young Swede talent Otto Knows ever since Avicii dropped the mysterious "ID vs. Flashback (Avicii's Bootleg)" at Tomorrowland of 2011 (the ID is now known to be Otto Knows' new track "Visa"). Since then, he has impressed many with a top-notch bootleg to Imogen Heap's "Hide And Seek" and his debut Beatport release in a glistening remix to ATB's "Twisted Love". Although it has taken him more time than others (such as Alesso) to get some tracks out on the market, his first original production "Million Voices" will be released on Sebastian Ingrosso's prestigious Refune records. The Swedish wunderkind has already played alongside Tiesto and appears to be the next Alesso, having confirmed shows with Ingrosso in the US in the near future. As for the track, it's quite refreshing and is something that progressive desperately needs right now with all this recycling of sounds. "Million Voices" features a warm assortment of melodies and a contagious sampling of children singing and screaming, which proves to be the centerpiece of the track. Even after listening to the preview, you'll notice childrens' voices to be stuck in your head!

Set to release February 8th!

Ben Kweller’s ‘Go Fly a Kite’

"Go fly a kite", a phrase usually used in the UK to tell someone to go f&*% themselves, but in this case the name of 30 year old Ben Kweller's new album, which will be released on his own label 'The Noise Company' February 7th, however available on iTunes now. I can't decide how I feel about his 5th studio album. It's upbeat and energetic with plently of feel good catchy songs, yet catches you off guard with hints of personal stories although the tracks seem to be highly repetitive.

STS – Great Mood Ft. A$AP Ferg

One of my personal favorites, Sugar Tongue Slim, collaborates with A$AP Mob's Ferg for this track "Great Mood". STS comes in at 00:27.

If you're not familiar, STS released this track a few weeks back which I've had on repeat ever since, sampling Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know", below.

On top of that he is part of XXL's Freshman Class Nominee's for 2012 (They choose 11 per year) along with a huge group of up and comers including MGK, Action Bronson, A$AP Rocky, Phil Adé (famous for Phil Adé Fridays) , Chip tha Ripper, Ex-OFWGKTA member Casey Veggies, Earl Sweatshirt, Kreayshawn, Maclkemore, Roscoe Dash and one of my dearest friends, Sam Adams. If you haven't been to XXL's Freshman Class Concert (Usually at BBKings in NYC, mid to late March) I highly recommend going. Last years concert featured Yelawolf, Mac Miller, Meek Mill, Big Krit and several other artists.

Atlanta/Brooklyn based Treasure Fingers returns with his second EP on Defected Records, which is one of the most legitimate and historic record labels with regards to actual house music. This time the funk disco specialist has teamed up with No Brainer Records head honcho Malente. The EP titled track "Crusaders" is built around an infectious funky disco bassline and features sound detailing of soulful vocal distortions and howls to induce any free spirit into a deep groove. The As for the second track "Au Revue", now this is what you call house music. They essentially take an impeccable disco loop to create a fun, fuego-filled atmosphere on the dancefloor.

TECH BOMB: Good Music (Stefano Noferini Remix)

I've always been an avid listener in tech house but if you haven't noticed, I write predominantly about progressive. I guess it's because progressive has been really booming with so many quality releases in the past couple years and also because I'm comfortable writing about the technical aspects. However, The Top 100 Tracks of 2011 series sucked the life out of me and it has kind of forced me to stay clear of progressive house for a bit until Ultra and Masquerade Motel. But that doesn't mean I'll stop posting about progressive, it just means I'll make more of an effort to cover house, tech house and a touch of techno (Fratalie has us covered in that and deep house).

Now to the fucking tech bomb! Hailing from Italy as a long time champion in house music of all forms, Stefano Noferini is a building legend who knows how to pump life in the dance floor and in his productions. Although I didn't extensively cover tech house last year, I do recall a few memorable tracks from Noferini like "Fucking House Musik", "Bibong"--which were released through Mark Knight's Toolroom Records-- "Deba"and his collaboration with techno juggernaut Umek on "Complementary Access". With a high-octane build that rewinds upon itself and a clicking bassline, this track has the perfect ingredients for an epic late-night excursion on the dancefloor.

The Australian output "In My Mind" has finally emerged from the deep synapses of euphoria as perhaps one of the biggest tracks of 2012. I know it's quite the bold statement considering we're only a month into 2012, but once you give it a listen I'm certain that we'll be on the same frequency. This month was quite the mega with releases such as Quintino's "We Gonna Rock", Dirty South & Thomas Gold's "Eyes Wide Open", Tommy Trash's "Cascade" and Hardwell's "Spaceman" (I'll get caught up on here eventually), but I think we can agree that this is the January finale we are all looking forward to! Released through Axwell's prestigious imprint Axtone and with the aid of Aussie indie pop singer Georgi Kay, the Australian duo Feenixpawl and their compatriot Ivan Gough (one-half of TV Rock) have set the bar incredibly high with this uplifting progressive offering. It probably helped that Axwell, the King Midas of remixing, incorporated some of his magic into the track as well.

We start off with a common clapping progression that soon evolves into a tranquil (but still bigroom) atmosphere created by some softer melodies and Georgi Kay's emotive vocals, of which lays the groundwork for the rest of the track. Debilitated and heartened by Georgi Kay's voice, the drop soon bursts to energize us with sheer bliss in its synth lead and crisp bassline. Is it me or does the piano breakdown that follows (3:22 in) remind you of Coldplay's "Clocks"? Also, there are a few parts of the track that remind me of Dirty South's "Walking Alone" as well. An anthem indeed, it will be incredibly hard to dethrone this face-melting 2012 contender for months to come. I'm going to make a guess and say that Thomas Gold's "Sing 2 Me", Arty and Matisse & Sadko's "Trio", Qulinez's "Troll" and Otto Know's "Million Voices" might be worthy competitors. And no, I did not mention Avicii because he's not doing anything that we haven't seen from him already.

The amounts of joy brought upon from listening to this track is proportional to the volume on your speakers!

I have been impatiently waiting for this facemelting anthem to drop ever since I heard this at the climax of Dirty South's amazing Electric Zoo afterparty set at Pacha NYC. I was then teased again at during peak time at Thomas Gold's legendary set at the Mid Chicago. This is honestly one of the best tracks I've heard in 2011, if not thee best. This won't be the last time you'll be reading up about this track, hopefully you've been keeping up with our top 100 tracks of 2011. Prepare yourself for an extremely emotional breakdown and a euphoric bombardment of the best use of chords you'll ever hear. If you haven't been on the Tim Mason train since The Moment dropped then I suggest you get on now to look cool.

Continuing their nice run from "Tribeca", the Holland duo of Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano show us their dirty-progressive take on Tiesto's 1o-year-old anthem "Lethal Industry" which was featured on his first album In My Memory. If you're huge fan of Thomas Gold's remix to Lady Gaga's "Judas" like myself and raged to the Dutch sounds from Chuckie's "Mutfakta", then "Lethal Industry" is right up your alley. There's nothing like those claps (3:39) and dark Tiesto-inspired synths which lead you into a pressing drop that just builds and builds to make you wish you were in a club at 4am. I'm definitely a huge fan of SJ & RM's deep/tech house influence. Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano are proof that you don't need face-melting melodies and arena synths to make a good progressive track.

I think latest wave of EDM fans are getting a bit too synth-happy and bass-driven (even sometimes myself) and need to look deeper into what EDM has to offer. There's no purpose of dropping new music if people want everything to sound like Avicii, Kaskade or Alesso (whom are all amazing still).

You may remember Otto Knows from his bootleg to "Hide and Seek" and his dazzling debut with his warm remix to ATB's "Twisted Love". Despite his scant collection, the young Swede has done a few gigs with Tiesto and hosted a guest mix on the second edition of Avicii's monthly LE7ELS podcast. He has also collaborated with Alesso on an upcoming track called "Diz Diz" and has an upcoming track called "Visa" which was mashed with vocals to "Flashback" during Avicii's sets.. Incorporating synth-driven beauties and dance-friendly melodies like Alesso and Avicii, Otto Knows is definitely a talent to look out for in 2012.

Hot off their Snooki/Ultraluxe EP, my favorite Dutch duo Disfunktion delivers a hot progressive track featuring those alluring filtered piano synths.

Another Swede by the name of John De Sohn delivers yet another upbeat and melodic tune. You may remember the vocalist Andreas Moe from Avicii's infamous "Fade Into Darkness".

MASSIVE SOUNDS

Straight up weird, "Mogley-from-the-junglebook" fuego:

The unconventionality of these tracks remind me a lot of Crooker's "Dr Gonzo", a spunky electro bomb that Tiesto dropped out of nowhere during his closing set at Electric Zoo this past summer. People went nuts for that track so will you when you hear these!

Who likes to dance? I've been waiting for a little more than two years for A-trak to put out another dancefloor destroyer at the level of his "Heads Will Roll" remix.

Dark progressive tunes presented by JOIA: It's been a little over a year since we all first heard Tim Berg's (aka Avicii) sinister progressive smash. The official follow-up to the classic "Alcoholic", "Bad Things" (along with rest of these tracks) should that dark and dirty spot.

PEAK-TIME CRUSHABILITY

Set to be released December 19th through Afrojack's WALL recordings, Hard Rock Sofa's rendering features a mad Russian debilitating flute riff (reminiscent of Tommy Trash's bagpipe leads) and punchy, stuttering bassline. I can just imagine this monster destroying dancefloors and lives worldwide.

Lastly, this fresh bigroom bomb by England's Michael Woods is my top pick. If you aren't taken by Duvall's dramatic yet perfectly-suited vocals, then you may not be a real person. Michael Woods has had an amazing year in dropping top tier club smashers like "First Aid" and "Bullet" and yet didn't make it onto DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs (which also based out of the UK just like Woods).

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside (Third Party Remix) [Extended 320]

Since we're closing in on 2011, I am working on a STS Top 100 of 2011 series and have narrowed down a solid 150 electro/progressive house tracks. There were three tracks that were clear-cut frontrunners for the anthem of 2011 -- Alesso's remix to "Pressure", Avicii's "Levels", and Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso's "Calling"-- you may be sick of these already like myself but they undeniably the tracks of 2011 . However, after listening to the polished extended cut of Third Party's remix to Red Hot Chili Peppers legendary "Otherside", I may need to reconsider. I had heard Tim Mason's remix in late August, but this 2011 contender first emerged in the EDM community during Tiesto's blistering set at Electric Zoo (and at Dirty South's set at the Electric Zoo afterparty at Pacha). I will never forget everyone's reaction. Dropping RHCP's "Otherside" mid-set is making a statement but when Tiesto dropped this uncharted house remix, he evoked reactions of bliss, serenity and exhilaration all at the same time.

Soon after Zoo, there was extensive inquiry in the EDM blogosphere with regards to who's remix it was and how the hell do I find this remix? There were people ripping live sets and radio sets from youtube and trying to convert the audio to 320 kbps mp3s. It was the only available rendering for house maniacs and ravenation, and we just had to deal with it impatiently. The wait is over, we can listen to and enjoy this feel-good anthem together. I must say, the London-based duo and personal favorite Third Party has made quite the splash in 2011 since their appearance on Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel in Miami on March 26th. They signed onto Steve Angello's prestigious SIZE records and are most known for their glass-shattering, dancefloor destroying "Duel", which easily cracks my top 10 progressive bombs of 2011. They also smashed remixes to Junior Sanchez's "I Believe In", Denzal Park's "Militia" and Swedish House Mafia's "Save The World. Their sound can be characterized as emotionally charging, highly technical, and full of feeling. I recommend you look into Third Party and check out their 2010 debut on SIZE called "Release".

My fellow Silverlakers BMJR & DP Crack posted a radio edit the other week and now here's real fuegs. As for the official release and label, I'm not quite sure but given that Third Party and Tim Mason both did remixes, SIZE records could be a prospect.
