The man has had an incredible year in 2011, and 2012 has only just began.  Despite all the success, he still remains true to himself.  This summer at Electric Zoo he pulled through as the allstar of the weekend playing three sets in New York City.  He played twice at the actual festival (covering for Martin Solveig once) and his afterparty at Pacha.  One of our other writers, Dan was blown away each time.  I myself even remember back to Dirty South’s set in Electric Zoo 2010, it being one of my favorites that I kept listening to throughout the year.

Perhaps the most impressive about his sets is how he mixes. He seamlessly blends tracks, always has a fresh playlist, and edits tracks so creatively. (I still find it genius how he took just Temper Trap’s vocals in Sweet Disposition and simply stretched them out in a wonderful acapella pretty much.)

His recent tracks, (Alive, Coming Home Remix, Eyes Wide Open, Walk Alone) are festival and club raging singles. Teaming up with vocalist Kate Elsworth seems to have been the right move. The way Kaskade has Skylar Grey, Dirty South has Kate. But to add the extra punch, he’s collaborated with Thomas Gold, another talented heavy weight. So while the tracks have been amazing thus far, we are looking forward to what he has yet to bring.
