They've been saying the year 2012 is the year of EDM, and so far I haven't been disappointed. In fact, I"m waiting for a machine to split me into x amount of selves so that I can attend multiple shows going on in one weekend. But until then, it's time to pick and choose and one of these events should definitely be Cielo celebrating its 9th birthday with Cassy. This Saturday the 28th, it's time to experience some of the best in house and techno, currently imported from Berlin's Panaroma Bar. Joining her, is Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff.
This 9th birthday is commendable for a few reasons. First, before the meatpacking district was cool, there was Cielo. Now that the meat packing is "uber" cool, Cielo is still here and thriving. Secondly, there aren't as many girl DJs as there are guy ones. And not many that are as good as Cassy (well there's tINI and Maya Jane Coles, but that's besides the point). Let me tell you, sometimes the girls can be ballsier and bring down the bass harder than any male dj I have seen.
