Freaky Deaky for Detroit
This Halloween is out of control. After the success of Avicii, React Detroit is having their launch party Freaky Deaky on Saturday October 29th. It’s a nine hour party with doors opening at 8pm and show ending at 5am – featuring opening djs such as Yos and headlining with Claude von Stroke, Tiga, Calvetron, and. And yes, it’s a costume party. Get ready to get dirty, sweaty, and freaky.
Besides how crazy long it’s going to be, how appropriate for Claude VonStroke to be playing in Detroit on Halloween weekend. One of his more recognized tracks remixed by both the Ministry of Sound and Killabits Dubstep remix of Is Who’s afraid of Detroit? Like David Berrie says, if you’re pure and into the more minimalist scene, Claude destroys. Literally, perfect for getting freaky. He’s from the US and based in good ol’ SanFran, but hails from the D. Talk about coming home and playing to a crowd that likes to get down. If I haven’t let on in the paragraph, I am extremely looking forward to his set.

I love the crowd that comes out for every show in the D, I see more appreciation and understanding for electronic music here than I see in some well established edm clubs in New York City. Tiga heads on down from Montreal to join us for the filthyness with quite the remixes under his belt. His remix of XX’s the Shelter (a classic song for remixes on HypeM, there are countless) stands above the rest adding another dimension with the deep bass in the background and a more minimal tribal element to the sultry voice of Romy Croft. Melt away.
The night isn’t complete without some dubstep and drumstep to which Calvertron steps up to the plate. Wowow, seriously if you love to get down and have a passion for edm, you should be freaking out in your chair right now. Pure, pure, pure. It’s getting hard to type from excitement.

Not to mention, one of my favorite local djs Yos is opening up along with other local acts. His opening sets are always on point filled with a nice deep house vibe that prep the crowd for an insane night.
