RELEASE: Dirty South, Those Usual Suspects feat. Erik Hecht – Walking Alone (Arty Remix)
Sorry for the delay in posting this one, but yesterday, February 15, 2012, Arty finally released his remix to the Dirty South classic Walking Alone. As an artist, Arty has matured exponentially over the past six months, experimenting with many different styles. Although Arty’s origins are in trance, much of his recent production utilizes house elements, a trend we have been seeing with many of the world’s top trance artists. His overall versatility has earned the respect of icons such as Paul van Dyk as well as many others. In just a few short years, Arty has accomplished what many artists hope to accomplish in a lifetime. Stay tuned for more from this 22 year-old prodigy from Engels, Russia!
Arty’s rendition of Walking Alone showcases all of Arty’s influences by applying house riffs to a trance-like structure. Unlike the original version of Walking Alone, which separates the vocal and instrumental hooks (until the end of the last drop) into waves, Arty amalgamates these two elements of the song, creating one long buildup that smoothly transitions into blissful/velvety drop. Given the distinct anatomy of this track, I believe its full depth will be most appreciated when heard live in conjunction with a set.
