SXSW-2010-Announces-Complete-Schedule-With-Venues

Well what had happened was…

Sorry for the delay folks, I was traveling all day yesterday and didn’t get a chance to put this up the way I wanted to.

Made sure to get to MTV Garage early on Thursday because Theophilus London was the opening act and I was NOT going to miss it.  Got on line at 11:00 AM.  Finally got in at 1:30 PM.  Thats right people, 2 and a half hours on line.  That’s dedication right there.  But guess what?  Only missed 1 song!  Wooooo.  Hilarious moment: Theo threw fake $1,000,000 bills into the crowd during “Gurls, Girls, Money”.  People scrambled… and then were crushed.  Suckersssssss.

Theophilus London – Humdrum Town

Up next, a band that I love called Foster the People.  Each band member played at least 2 instruments depending on the song.  So, wait, the guy who was just on synth is now playing tambourine and maraca AT THE SAME TIME?? whaaat? #blowyourmind.  Seriously though, these guys are awesome.  ”Pumped Up Kicks” is my jam.

Last artist I stayed for at MTV Garage was Tinie Tempeh.  This guy is mega talented, and super fun to watch.  Great performer.  Crowd went nuts for “Pass Out” and Swedish House Mafia collab “Miami 2 Ibiza”  Also, sweet kicks!  Wish I had a pic.

And on into the night!  Went to Auditorium Shores for the free Strokes show.  Got to the gates and security is closing them!!!  This place is supposed to fit thousands of people, how can you be at capacity?!  Its a park!  You know, I’d never scaled a 10 foot chain-link fence before, but I wasn’t taking no for an answer. Launched myself over, hit the ground, and took off like a banshee into the crowd.  Heard some great old hits and some tracks from the new album.  They ended the show with fireworks and “Last Night”.

Thats all folks…
