HARVARD BASS
I just recently was able to see Harvard Bass for the first time this past Tuesday. He opened up for Wolfgang Gartner (a man, myth, and legend) at Necto Nightclub in Ann Arbor, MI. I was blown away, as also much of the crowd was, by his up-beat, hard hitting, bassy synths and electro that straight melted everyone on the dance floor. He definitely got the energy up to where it needed to be for Wolfgang.
Harvard Bass, also known as Victor Hugo Ramos, began indulging in the sweet sounds of house and electro by sneaking into clubs in Tijuana at the mere age of 16. It was said that he sold all his toys at this age for his first set of DJ equipment. As he started producing his own music at the end of 2007, he acquired the name, Harvard Bass. While some of his track display minimal sounds, he hits you hard with bass and synths that make your veins tremble in other compilations. Now hailing from San Diego, CA, Harvard Bass has been seen at many different venues. From the small club atmosphere, seen at his most recent appearance in Michigan, to festivals such as Wonderland and Electric Daisy Carnival.
Don’t let this first song scare you away. But seriously, who doesn’t love frogs with bass and lasers?
Acid Girls – Lightworks (Harvard Bass Remix)
My favorite track by Harvard Bass. This song blows the roof off any club and actually lifts people off their feet with driving synths. LISTEN TO THIS, BOOM!
Bart B More & Harvard Bass – Listen to This
This compilation of some the best tech-house, electro artists. Harvard Bass is obviously included for his natural use of killer bass and synths that make you turn to your boy and say WHHHAAAAT?!
Brodinski, Djedjotronic, Noob & Harvard Bass – Extreme Compote
This sick remix of Zombie Nation’s Seas of Grease just keeps the amps going. With more of a minimal feel, this remix shows Harvard Bass’s immense range, while upholding killer quality.
Zombie Nation – Seas of Grease (Harvard Bass Remix)
Back to those twangy sounds and deep basses, this song gets everyone jumping out of their shoes.
Harvard Bass – Onurp
A darker-house side of Harvard Bass is evident, but yet again he blows everything up in your face. This remix is just fire.
Harvard Bass – Pruno (Style Of Eye Remix)
More of Harvard Bass’s minimal side is seen in this remix. While keeping the twangs and hard drive to the maximum velocity, he proves this is in his blood.
Digitalism – Blitz (Harvard Bass Remix)
More of his minimal side.
Mom & Dad – The Whole Sh’bang (Harvard Bass Remix)
This song is just chock-full of surprises!
Drop The Lime – Set Me Free (Harvard Bass remix)
As promised to many, I’m finally uploading the dirtiest song that’s been raging throughout the arenas over the past 8 months. Heard it live for the first time at Steve Angello, NYE, at Roseland Ballroom, NYC and again in Detroit a few weeks ago. I’ve seen videos of Tiesto and Armin van Buuren dropping this phenom of a track as well.
Nari & Milani – Kendo (Original Mix)
peace, love and BASS.
