]]> Its getting warmer out, and you know what that means.  Time to start looking ahead to the summer, or more specifically, summer music festivals.

Whats new? The inaugural Governers Ball Music Festival, on New York City's Governors Island, Saturday June 18th.  Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, and Empire of the Sun are joined by Big Boi (of Outkast), Neon Indian, People Under The Stars, Mac Miller, Miami Horror, Passion Pit (DJ Set), Reptar, Outasight and recently added (read: yesterday), Das Racist!!  All day epic dance party?!  No overlapping sets?!  Mildly sarcastic and hilarious FAQ's page?! Appreciate the reminder to bring sunglasses (for the sun and my bright future).

Want/Need/Gotta have tickets?  Early bird and limited advanced are sold out, but there are still some regular tickets available here. OR... if you think you've got the moves, you can enter their Dance Off Contest for a chance to win backstage passes, festival merch, and more.

With NYE fast approaching it's time to start creating that pre-game playlist that is going to catapult you into 2011 a champion. Here are the game-changers. Sam La More is a champion. We've established this before.  He's BACK and his sound (at least for these two tracks) has evolved.  Instead of the long progressive build-ups that we've all grown to know and love - he's gotten more aggressive - dropping you right into the action early and unrelentingly.  He still has those iconic loops that force you to get funky.  In his remix of 'Way Back Home', it takes only a minute, after some beautiful lyrical prose, for Sam La More to drop you into the heart of action - forcing you to b-line to a dance floor near you.  Evacuate the dance floor?  Not this time.

Keljet is a two-man wolf pack

Keljet is KILLING it.  The dutch duo falls under the electro-indie genre, fusing authentic sounds, intricate beat structures, and some synthetic flair to create a really unique vibe.  The Dutch are doing something right over there - because it seems like of the 16 million people that reside within the countries borders, 8 million of them are creating crush-worthy dance tracks while the other 8 are in a lab somewhere just waiting for their sound to be heard.  Well right now it's Keljet's turn.  Jump on this train.  It's going to a dance floor near you.

This monday's playlist is feeding off of the incredible weather from last weekend. A big mix of artists and styles, a couple of recommendations from Jonny & Vishnu. Keep checking back, we should have some new toys to play around with early next week

]]> As many of you know this past weekend, we've been hammering out the new version of vokoder and a mobile version for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. The new version of the site is dropping late this week / early next week, so keep checking back for updates and also check out the updated pluURL site!

Chiddy Bang just released their mini mixtape, which could be a good sign that they will release an album hopefully this summer. Two of the songs I've already posted earlier, "Under the Sheets" & "Stylo". Chidera definitely knows how to deliver on each verse,  cipher'ing those syllables to leave a lasting impression in your head. Others might see this as him being too poppy or even corny because their own wordplay sucks. His rhymes and lyrics are definitely intended for our era of college kids and Xaphoon's DJ IQ is off the charts. His taste in music is what really makes their songs so good - Sampling the likes of Passion Pit , Ellie Goulding, MGMT, and even the Gorillaz new sound into a hiphop beat that is just straight fire. All I'm saying is watch the fuck out for these guys, regardless if they sell out or not, they are talented.

Unless you've been in a soundproof cave for the past year then you've heard of Passion Pit.  I'm here to shed a little light on the lesser known side of their remix catalog.  What's great about Passion Pit is their ability to retain the sanctity of the original song while introducing a very Passion-Pit-esque sound of their own (think sparkling, euphoric synths and the disco sensibilities that made them famous).

Passion Pit has been making good songs great and fans of Passion Pit have been making their already great songs greater.  Hear for yourself ...

]]> Some members of the Silverlake to Soho team were fortunate to attend this year's epic dance gala in Miami, Ultra Music Festival.

To commemorate the glorious time that all had at Ultra, we threw in a fresh cut from Guetta and Wynter Gordon "Dirty Talk" as well as a crispy lean Aoki/ LMFAO cut. We hope these tracks serve as motivation to get you out of your cube and onto the dance floor this weekend. After all, it's Easter Weekend aka another excuse to pull a neverending mega in whatever Metropolis you happen to be residing.
